About us
From living room to Singing school
More than twelve years ago, we started out small and simple: singing lessons in home studios and living rooms all across Amsterdam.
Teachers sharing their knowledge and love for singing with others. Around the kitchen table, or in a tiny studio.
Since then, we’ve outgrown our baby shoes and turned into a real singing school. With loads of experience and two beautiful professional singing studios at our main location on Surinameplein in Amsterdam South. And yes, we still teach at smaller spots around the city, nice and close by, and sometimes still at the kitchen table in a teacher’s living room.
So yes, we’ve grown. It’s amazing that we now also run group classes and choirs. But the most important thing hasn’t changed: personal attention. Whether you’re singing in a group or one-on-one, we want you to feel seen. And above all: heard.
“I’d love to take singing lessons… but I’m too scared to take that step!”
“I’m not good enough.”
“I need to know what I’m doing before I can start singing lessons.”
We hear this all. the. time. And you know what? We get it. Completely. A first singing lesson is nerve-racking. Our very own teachers once stood before their classroom door, trembling while getting ready for their very first lesson. So trust us: we know exactly how it feels.
But here’s the thing: singing isn’t something you have to be “good at” before you’re “allowed” to take lessons. You don’t have to be the next Beyoncé or Adele. And you don’t need to become that either.

Your voice is already there. You use it every single day. We’d even go as far as to say: in your singing lessons, you won’t make a single sound you haven’t made before. So, whether you’re just starting out, have been singing for years, or are somewhere in between, we’ll help you discover how you sound, how you want to sound, and how you can sound.
Not like Beyoncé. Not like Adele. But like yourself.

We practice what we preach… eh, teach
All our singing teachers are certified and hold at least a bachelor’s degree from a recognized music or arts program. Think The Conservatory of Amsterdam, The Rock Academy in Tilburg, or the Herman Brood Academy. This way, you can be sure your lessons are given by someone with both solid expertise and a strong educational foundation.
On top of that, our teachers are fully active in the music industry. You’ll find them on stage with their own artist projects, as session musicians or backing vocalists, and in the studio as songwriters. They’ve worked with artists such as Alain Clark, Jett Rebel, Sue the Night, and Blackbird. All those unique real-world experiences? Our teachers bring them straight into your lessons.
That makes our team not only professional, but also wonderfully diverse. Every teacher has their own specialty and background. Which means there’s always someone who’s the right fit for you. Want to focus on writing your own songs? Book a trial lesson with a teacher who’s a songwriter themselves. Want to dive into a certain genre, learn to accompany yourself on guitar or piano, or polish your stage presence? You can pick the teacher who matches your goals.

Since then, she has been performing under the name xCelia, an electronic empower-pop act. She writes and produces her own music and has performed at venues including Paradiso. “As a vocalist you can feel very vulnerable, and I find it important to draw strength from that. Telling a story through music is the most beautiful thing there is.”
Jessie graduated in 2023 from the Jazz Department of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Alongside her studies, she sings in a gypsy jazz quartet called The Roseland Quartet and performs as a backing vocalist with the reggae-dub band Bagjuice at several well-known reggae festivals. Beyond jazz, she has a deep love for soul, blues, reggae, and pop music — influences that also shine through in her own work. She is currently working on her debut EP: an English-language blend of soul, jazz, and pop.

“Whether it’s a first singing lesson or the next step, everything starts somewhere. The best part is getting to guide someone through that with attention, trust, and joy.”
Julia is a singer, songwriter, and producer. She studied jazz and pop at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. From a young age, she grew up with classical music, played the violin intensively, and sang in the National Children’s Choir. Under her artist name Julia Sabate, she now performs on stages in the Netherlands and abroad, including MadCool (Madrid), BIME (Bilbao), Pukkelpop (Belgium), and ESNS (the Netherlands). Her passion lies in Spanish-language music and writing her own songs. And, of course, she also teaches with us—supporting students with great joy as they find their own path and unique voice.

“I want to help students discover and develop their authentic voice, through vocal technique, improvisation, songwriting, and artistic expression”
Kristina is a Ukrainian-Russian singer and composer based in Amsterdam. During her music studies in Moscow and St. Petersburg, she developed—partly out of homesickness—a deep love for Ukrainian folk music and began composing her own work, blending jazz with Ukrainian folklore. After releasing her debut album Hristya v Namysti in 2019, Kristina moved to the Netherlands to study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Her work has been featured at Jazzfest, VPRO Vrije Geluiden, the Keep an Eye Jazz Award, and the Rough Diamonds Series at the Bimhuis.
