A stage for our students
Every year we organize multiple concerts for our private and duo students. You’ll see all ages, styles, and levels take the stage. It’s also a great opportunity to get to know your fellow students and our team a little better. (our choirs have their own choir show at the end of the schoolyear).
Taking part is, of course, completely optional. Some of our students simply enjoy singing for themselves and don’t feel the need to perform. But if you’d like to show what you’ve been working on in your singing lessons, or if you’re eager to gain stage experience, our concerts are the perfect place to do it.
Knowing that you have a performance coming up also gives your singing lessons a clear sense of direction. A student concert can be a wonderful motivator to get the most out of your singing lessons. (And if it feels like too much at the last minute, you can always decide to wait until the next concert instead.)
What can I expect from a student concert?
We make sure to create a warm, supportive atmosphere at Cafe Chef (the cafe of the creative hub where our main location is at, in Amsterdam South at Surinameplein). Accompanied by your teacher, a karaoke tape or maybe even yourself, you can sing a song on stage for the best audience in the world: your fellow students, your teachers and of course your friends and family!
Of course you’re going to prepare your song well, together with your teacher, during the last couple of singing lessons before the concert. But if the nerves get the best of you and you find yourself struggling on stage: we got you! You can start the song again, or pick up where you left of (just like a pro).
Our concerts are usually held on Sunday afternoon between 15:00 and 18:00. (with a drink after of course!)
