Approach
how we work and what’s in it for you
At The Amsterdam Vocal Company, we like to keep things clear and simple.
We don’t do single lessons or punch cards that end up half-used in a drawer. Instead, we work with a solid structure you can actually build on.
Whether you’re taking private lessons or singing in one of our choirs: with over 15 years of experience, we can confidently say that this approach works.
Think of it like going to the gym: a couple of random workouts are fun, but they won’t really get you anywhere. It’s the consistency that makes the difference. That’s how you start to really get the hang of singing: you start understand what you’re doing, feel more confident and free, and most of all: it becomes a lot more fun.

Our singing year consists of 40 lesson weeks, plus several holiday weeks when no lessons take place. We follow the official school holidays for the Northern region of the Netherlands, as set by the Dutch government.
You don’t need to sign up for a full year with us. To keep things flexible, we’ve divided the year into five blocks of eight lesson weeks each. Every block has fixed start and end dates.
Your summer soundtrack ☀️
As you may have noticed, we like to keep things clear and structured. But even we loosen things up a little during summer.
During the summer holidays there are no group lessons. Private lessons don’t follow the usual fixed rhythm either: no set day, time, or frequency, and no monthly automatic invoice.
Still want to keep singing through summer? Then simply arrange directly with your teacher when you’d like to come and how many lessons you’d like to book. You’ll receive one single invoice for this, which will be collected automatically.
